Why It's so Awesome to be a Marriage Celebrant and Wedding DJ & MC at the SAME Wedding
While I'm not the only marriage celebrant who's also a wedding DJ, there's not that many of us! Almost every couple who finds me hasn't come across anyone else who does both. On the surface, marriage celebrant and wedding DJ are pretty different jobs, but they're also similar enough on a deeper level that I'm surprised there aren't more celebrant DJ's around. In the end, they're both about bringing people together, making them feel like they're part of something special, and creating a vibe that's all about family and party at the same time. Weddings really are a unique occasion!
As a marriage celebrant, it's such a gift to be there for the moment of heartfelt commitment between two people who love each other more than anyone else. It's a culmination of years of shared experience, the highs, the lows, and all the little moments between that make every relationship unique, yet similar.
If I'm only your marriage celebrant, my day with you ends there. But when I'm also your wedding DJ & MC, I get to be there once the nerves of the ceremony have settled and the awesome reality has sunk in - you're married!! There's so much to love about a wedding reception - family and friends who haven't seen each other in a long time reconnecting, lifelong friends sharing in the joy of a milestone together, and new friendships and relationships forming amongst those meeting for the first time.
But what I love the most as a wedding DJ is to watch everyone dancing together, and being the guy responsible for playing the music that makes them wanna dance. Being a wedding DJ is the perfect time to bring together old and new music (go check out my Instagram reels) - because weddings bring together young and old!
I could go on and on, but ultimately I love being both a marriage celebrant and wedding DJ because I love that I can make sure the party starts at the altar and ends on the dancefloor.
